Malan Ideal Impact has established itself as a trusted partner in research and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning across Afghanistan. Since its founding in 2019, our team of national and international experts has successfully delivered over a dozen research, evaluations, and third-party monitoring projects and assignments for leading donors and organizations, including the former United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Bank, UN agencies, bilateral donors, and international NGOs.

Projects Portfolio

Malan’s portfolio spans a wide range of humanitarian and development sectors, with work implemented in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan. Our assignments have included large-scale third-party monitoring operations, nationwide research studies, independent evaluations, and capacity-building programs. We bring together methodological rigor, contextual expertise, and innovative data solutions to generate credible evidence that supports accountability, learning, and adaptation.

Malan’s reputation rests on its ability to combine nationwide reach with local knowledge, supported by a strong field presence and an extensive network of trained enumerators and field supervisors. We ensure the right information reaches the right decision-makers at the right time that contribute to more effective, inclusive, and sustainable development outcomes in Afghanistan and beyond.

Malan continues to strengthen Afghanistan’s evidence base by delivering research, MEL and Safeguarding services that inform policy, improve programs, and amplify the voices of communities across the country.

Malan was also part of the reference group that reviewed the 2025 Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance (ALNAP) / Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development – Development Assistance Committee (OECD DAC) evaluation criteria in humanitarian settings.
